SEATTLE - Wash. Your Phi Beta Lambda state officers made several appearances at FBLA regional fall conferences in Western Washington chapters, aspiring several hundred members in attendance to continue their organizational journey in college. October 17, 2018 began the first fall conference affiliation with Washington FBLA at the Northwest Regional Fall Conference. State President Ryan Kussmann led a workshop in Bellingham titled "Inspiring Yourself", Ryan discussed the importance of setting goals to self-motivation and how such a skill can be applied in FBLA and, by extension, PBL.
On November 2nd, State President Ryan Kussman and Vice President Tiexiao Wang spoke and at the Southwest Regional Fall Conference, where over 100 middle and high school students gathered in Longview to learn more about FBLA, how to improve in competitive events, and important leadership skills. In his opening speech, Tiexiao emphasized the connection between FBLA and PBL and encouraged future participation in PBL. To wrap up the fall conference season, State Secretary Alex Capi traveled to Redmond on November 5th for the West Central Regional Fall Conference. He facilitated a workshop called "Phi Beta Lambda: Collegiate FBLA", going over in-depth the major differences between the larger high school division than the collegiate, smaller national community of professional leaders. In addition, he shares about his experience in reflection to his 8+ year service to the association. Will we see some more connections with Washington FBLA in the future? This is just the beginning.
